Toulouse. Committee 31: the minims have completed the calendar
In Argoulets, the Haute-Garonne committee offered a regional team tournament and the Kata Cup.
“The results are largely positive.” Deputy Vice-President and Secretary General of Committee 31, Jean-Claude Borredon has something to smile about.
After two complicated seasons due to the health context, Haut-Garonne judo is off to a good start. “Currently, we have 12,470 licensees. We had 13,490 for the 2019-2020 season, and 10,110 for the 2020-2021 season. By August 31, which will mark the end of this season, the figure should around 13,000 licenses. As for the number of clubs, there are 114, three less compared to the two previous seasons”, he confided on Saturday, at Argoulets, during the last meeting on the calendar of the commission. A day dedicated to the little ones with a regional team tournament and the Kata Cup.
The double for the Alliance Judo Occitanie
“For the regional tournament, we had six men’s teams and two women’s teams. Each team consists of between seven and eight fighters, who can be from different clubs. Usually the number of participants is a bit larger,” aa specified Nadir Ali Bey, federal technical adviser (CTF) within committee 31. In terms of results, the Judo Occitanie Alliance signed the double.
In the morning, the Kata Cup had welcomed five pairs. “The duets can be mixed”, underlined Nadir Ali Bey. Pairs Virya Tan-Martin Crabette and Quentin Dupuy-Robin Gallato finished at the top of the standings.
Heading to Auvergne next month
Concerning the minims, the committee 31 presents two teams for the French Cup of departments fixed on May 14 and 15 in Ceyrat (Auvergne). “Two kata couples, a referee and a minimal sports commissioner will also take part in this event. They will be supervised by a High-Grade (6th dan), the federal technical adviser and elected officials from the departmental steering committee”, detailed Jean-Claude Borredon.
