Airbus signs a super contract for 80 A320neos with lessor BOC Aviation
On Monday April 11, Airbus announced the order for 80 A320neo family aircraft. The Singapore-based company has signed a firm contract for twenty A320neos, fifty A321neos, larger versions of Airbus’ successful single-aisle aircraft, and ten long-range A321XLRs.
According to Airbus’ latest list price, the contract represented the tidy sum of 10 billion dollars. Even if the experts know that because of the numerous agreements made by the European aircraft manufacturer, this amount will not be reached, the deal between the manufacturer and the lessor BOC Aviation is an “out of the ordinary” order.
The Singapore-based company is now expecting twenty A320neos, fifty A321neos, larger versions of Airbus’ successful single-aisle aircraft, and ten long-range A321XLRs.. “The deliveries of all devices are calculated between 2027 and 2029”, underlined BOC Aviation in a statement. The number of Airbuses at this company will thus reach 546 aircraft from the European aircraft manufacturer. BOC thus becomes one of Airbus’ main customers.
The Toulouse-based manufacturer will almost double its net order balance since the start of 2022: it stands at to 83 aircraft at the end of March, according to the latest figures from the aircraft manufacturer, which counts deliver 720 aircraft in 2022, compared to 611 last year. 7,900 copies of the A320neo have already been ordered.
