Slovakia has the latest fourth slowest internet, according to a study – Communication – Science and Technology
According to a study by U Switch, Slovakia has the fourth slowest broadband internet among the 37 countries monitored. Surprisingly, the fastest connections are available to residents of Chile, Denmark and the United States.
People in South America can download a 1,500-megabyte movie in one minute and three seconds on average. According to the latest analysis by U Switch, Chile has the fastest broadband Internet in the world with an average speed of 189.36 Megabits per second (Mbit / s). The second fastest internet is available to the people of Denmark, who download a film of the same size in an average of one minute and 13 seconds. Americans can use ten seconds slower broadband. Spain and New Zealand also made it into the top five countries with the fastest internet connections.
Slow, but at least cheap
On the contrary, at the opposite end of the country is Slovakia, which took 34th place out of 37 monitored. According to U Switch, the average broadband connection speed should reach “only” 47.34 Mbit / s. Slovaks can download the film in higher resolution in 4 minutes and 13 seconds. The Czechs, whose internet is only 0.3 Mbit / s faster, are not much better off either. Turkey at 26.34 Mbit / s and Greece at 33.41 Mbit / s were on the full tail. Slovakia is better off compared to the affordability of the Internet, which analysts have compared to the average monthly wage (1196 euros). Slovaks pay an average of 17.7 euros for an internet connection and thus ranked 20th among 38 countries. Slovakia has also overtaken the Czech Republic, where the Internet is less expensive than 5 euros. Compared to the average wage, the Internet is most available in Israel (€ 22.56), Latvia (€ 12.24) and France (€ 29.49).
Public statistics may differ from other results published regularly by analytical companies. For example, according to last year’s statistics from the SpeedTestNet.io server, Chile is far from doing so well and ranks 15th in the table. Singapore (245.5 Mbit / s), South Korea (241.58 Mbit / s) and Hong Kong (240 Mbit / s) are expected to have the fastest internet. According to SpeedTestNet., the domestic fixed Internet in Slovakia has an average speed of up to 101.28 Mbit / s, ie 16 Mbit / s more than in the neighboring Czech Republic.
