“It’s going to be tight, it’s not a scoop”. The prognosis of the LREM deputy for Haute-Garonne, Monique Iborra, a few minutes before 8 p.m. was demolished by the appearance on television, and especially by the scores, of the two headliners of the second round of the presidential election, Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen.
No outpouring of joy
The outgoing president came out fairly well in the lead and for the Macronists, the election evening was therefore rather mild in Toulouse, although without outpouring, except for the appearance of Emmanuel Macron’s face on the shots. 20 hours.
“Program against program”
For the rest, the support of the president-candidate oscillated between “relaxation” and “satisfaction”.
“It’s a relief because the polls did not give him (Emmanuel Macron) so high, but you shouldn’t think that everything is won. There will be a televised debate between two rounds but that will not be enough. We must go back to the campaign and show that we have a social project radically different from that of Marine Le Pen who has the reservoir of ways of Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Eric Zemmour. From now on, it is program against program”, estimates the deputy Monique Iborra a few minutes after the verdict of the polls.
Targeted actions
“Campaign”, “go back to the field tomorrow”: at the headquarters of Emmanuel Macron’s supporters, the same order of march.
“We are happy to be first, we have a little lead but nothing is won. We are going to carry out targeted actions according to the districts, project against project”, estimates as for him Thomas Lamy, in charge of mobilization in Haute-Garonne.
For Corinne Vignon, LREM deputy for Haute-Garonne, “Tonight it is a car slowing down on a field campaign. We are doing better on a second term campaign, which proves that Emmanuel Macron’s work has paid off. We are satisfied but we go back to the field with the desire to settle that Madame Le Pen’s program is not fundable. From now on, it will be program against program”.
Macron in Toulouse?
Program against program… From this Sunday evening, the local executives of LREM met to define the main axes of the new campaign which begins. And always with the idea of, perhaps, welcoming Emmanuel Macron, for a big meeting in Toulouse.
“Nothing has been confirmed, we hope he will come next week, but that will depend on several things, in particular the orientation given to the campaign, its agenda and the international situation” indicated in the evening. Alice Dausse, LREM referent of the Haute-Garonne department.
