Our egg production is concentrated regionally. The largest number of hatching farms is located in the Wielkopolskie and Mazowieckie voivodships. From these two mountains as much as 56 percent. of the entire production – the collective deputy head of KOWR.
In Poland, 85 percent. of all egg elements for consumption eggs, and 15 percent. for hatching eggs. In the years 2018-2020, the annual production – consumption and hatching eggs in total – the number of 11.7-12 billion pieces.
According to data from the Ministry of Finance in 2021, we sold 141 thousand. tons of eggs for 160 million euros. This is a result than in 2020 when it was 192 thou. tons of eggs for 204 million euro. Where does such a decline come from? There are three reasons. After: lower egg exports were a result of a restriction in international trade with the pandemic. Second: restrictions on the company from the HoReCa sector. Another reason for the emergence of exports resulted from the restrictions imposed by countries due to the occurrence in Poland, explains Marcin Wroński.
We produce a lot, but we eat less eggs ourselves
Interestingly, the consumption of eggs per person is in our country than it was a decade ago. According to the balance sheet data of the Central Statistical Office, in 2019-2020, a statistical Pole ate the estimated annual amount of hen eggs per year, while another 156,157 were consumed by 200 eggs per year. It is one of those who mach in the world, the production of our country is large – a large number of Wroński.
