“For the renewal of the industry contract we need responsibility, both of us and of the counterpart”
From the data recently presented by the Anis Observatory it emerges that the manufacturing sector is resilient: during the 2020 lockdown, revenues fell less than expected while in 2021 there was a recovery, but slowed down in the last part of the year by ” increase in energy and raw material costs. In this context we are moving towards the negotiations for the renewal of the sector contract and we interviewed the President of the Industrialists Neni Rossini.
When will the industrial and manufacturing sectors of San Marino return to pre-pandemic levels?
“Not so when we get there. We will certainly do it because the sector represented by Anis has shown an important resilience and a way towards recovery. Certainly, today, the issue of military conflict within Europe is a further element of difficulty that companies are facing. So we do not know when we will return to pre-pandemic levels, but we will return very changed, very different, probably even stronger but it is still a path to take.“.
Of the two factors, pandemic and conflict in Ukraine, which is the most concern?
“The most difficult phase is certainly the one we are experiencing today, for one simple reason: it brings extreme uncertainty. While we have experienced the pandemic and with rationality and awareness, we have faced it and we face it, today we are facing an enemy that will have effects and consequences that we cannot yet know. An uncertainty that we still have to learn to deal with, with the resources we have“.
In this context there has been an increase in the is more important in recent years and the contract of the industry sector has expired. With what spirit does Anis approach the negotiations for the renewal?
“I still believe that in the past the spirit with which he is an anarchist and a counterpart must approach the renewal is that of responsibility. We are in a time of great uncertainty but also of awareness that things around us are changing very quickly. So we will have to be able to confront and find the right compromise to face this difficult moment in the best conditions and it can only be done well if we are together.“.
