Femen with antifa inscriptions arrested near a polling station
Several attempts to disrupt the presidential election took place this Sunday, April 10, when the French are called to vote for their new president.
Six women belonging to the Femen feminist movement were arrested for disturbing the electoral operations this Sunday, April 10, according to information from BFM-TV which cites a judicial source. The scene took place near the Capitole in Toulouse, the activists would describe themselves topless in front of a polling station and wore antifa inscriptions on their chests, according to The Midi Dispatch .

They were spotted at 10:50 a.m., Square Charles de Gaulle near Place du Capitole, by city CCTV cameras. A police patrol intervened in the middle of the morning, and took the group into custody. The action of these activists undermined the exercise of the electoral right and the freedom to vote by “crowds, shouting or threatening demonstration», protected by article L98 of the electoral code. They risked up to two years in prison and a fine of 15,000 euros. The women were nevertheless released and their police custody was lifted around 6 p.m. this Sunday, without legal proceedings.
The Femen are a movement of feminist activists, created in 2008 in Ukraine. The latter are known for their topless actions, considered provocative and sometimes extremist.

Other disturbances also take place on the day of the first round of the presidential election. Glue was indeed found in the lock of the town hall of Watigny, in Aisne. This joke, in bad taste, made access to the polling station impossible and staff had to go behind it. The office was finally able to open safely at the scheduled time, according to France Blue .
