Until just before 17th round the Salzburg League Golling Fortress was considered impregnable. The resident there SC Golling was the only league team that hasn’t suffered a single defeat at home so far this season. Fixed today: The “Last Bastion” has fallen. The Lessacher Boys moved against the UFC SV Hallwang the short ones, ultimately had to admit defeat with 1:2.

Hallwang shines with a lot of ball possession, Golling with the high-quality opportunities
“Golling had a run, we, on the other hand, had a negative run,” said Hallwang chairman Christian Schmidhuber of suboptimal signs. In the absence of coach Drachschwandtner (professional) and section head Leitner (ill), Hallwanger put the second-placed team from Golling to the test. The visitors enjoyed a high degree of ball possession, ultimately had more of the game and after 24 shots they took the lead through Resch’s goal – 0:1. “That was a meter offside,” said Golling supervisor Christoph Lessacher, looking at the available videos. The better chances in the course of the first part of the game, however, were found by the hosts who were lurking on the counter. One of these opportunities was capitalized on just a few moments after the setback, when an attack on the right-hand side of top goalgetter Brückler was finalized (27th).
Guests withstood Gollinger’s final offensive
The longer the match lasted, the more destructive it became. “We weren’t as dominant then,” Schmidhuber observed in the second half of a classic midfield banter. In the 59th minute, Wagner again put Hallwanger in ecstasy after Seidl-Querleger. And when guest man Mitterbauer was ruled out after preventing a clear goal chance (71st), the thriller was inevitable in the final sprint. In the finish, Mitterlechner fired a free kick to put it at 2:2 – but referee Zagovic decided it was offside. In addition, the Gollinger felt cheated by two penalties. All in all, the decimated guest elf put the “threesome” in the freezer. “Worthy seen over 90 minutes. After the red card it got hot again”, Schmidhuber had felt “220 pulse”.
The best at Hallwang: General praise (outstanding: Seidl (DM), Löw (OM), Leitner (LV))
