State parliament – Munich – AfD: Inquiry commission in the state parliament on Bavaria’s corona policy – Bavaria
Munich (dpa / lby) – The AfD in the Bavarian state parliament is calling for the establishment of a commission of inquiry to review the previous corona policy in the Free State. The commission should consist of 18 MPs and 12 other members and their final report will be delayed on September 23, the parliamentary group announced on Friday in Munich.
“In order to be able to derive future challenges from this art, Bavaria has to position itself differently. A commission of inquiry is a suitable institution to accept appropriate analyzes and to make recommendations for future action from them,” said the parliamentary group’s legal policy spokesman, Christoph Maier.
The state parliament can set up commissions of inquiry to prepare decisions on extensive and important matters that fall under the jurisdiction of the Free State of Bavaria. If one-fifth of the MPs demand the appointment, the state parliament is obliged to set up the commission.
Since the AfD only has 17 of the 205 MPs, it lacks the necessary number of 41 parliamentarians for the appointment. There would have to be at least 24 other MPs who would support the motion.
