Olympique de Marseille – PAOK: assessment of a football evening under high tension
Ten people were arrested on the sidelines of the match between Olympique de Marseille and the Greeks of PAOK Salonika. Many incidents occurred in the stadium and in the city. The quarter-final meeting of the Europa League ended in victory for the Marseillais.

The velodrome stadium was the scene of incidents on Thursday evening on the sidelines of OM’s first leg. The clashes between supporters could be interrupted, but the whole meeting took place in a tense atmosphere between Greek and Marseille supporters.
Thirty police officers were injured when they intervened between the visitors’ stand and the north bend, reports the Bouches-du-Rhône police headquarters. Two injured police officers were evacuated.
Shortly before the match, Marseille supporters had tried to fight it out when the Greeks arrived at the velodrome stadium. More than 2,000 PAOK supporters had to be transported under police escort.
On Wednesday evening, the day before the match shortly after the arrival of the Greek supporters in Marseille, groups of supporters played cat and mouse between the Old Port and the Saint-Charles station district. Damage has been observed.
