Klarna, About You partner for e-commerce
Sweden-based payment processor Klarna this week announced an agreement with European e-commerce company About You that will allow customers in Germany and Switzerland to use the Pay Later 30 payment option.
About You customers have already been able to use Klarna payment services in the Netherlands, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Finland and Norway. The company’s “Pay Later 30” option allows customers to pay for their purchases 30 days after purchase, which Klarna says in promotional materials is enough to order, receive, try on and return a garment. As a result, buyers don’t have to purchase an item before seeing if they like it or if it fits.
About You operates a website and app that the company says offers customers “personalized shopping experiences.” With 400,000 items from more than 2,000 brands, the company’s websites and apps attract “more than 30 million monthly active users,” according to the company press release.
Klarna announced in its press release that the two companies will offer the service to the used clothing market.
“The aim of the campaign is to make it clear that circular fashion is not hype, but a serious commitment by both companies to contribute to the preservation of our planet and a responsible society,” says the press release.
“Our two companies share the belief that a smooth shopping experience for users will determine long-term competition in e-commerce in Central and Northern Europe at Klarna,” read a prepared statement.
Klarna claims to have more than 147 million active users making 2 million transactions per day.
