City of Salzburg – Award: Stadt:Salzburg is klimaaktiv mobil project partner
With the further development of the cycling infrastructure and the purchase of 19 e-bikes, the city of Salzburg is making a significant contribution to reducing CO2 emissions. Now she has been awarded as a klimaaktiv mobil project partner as part of the action and advisory program Innovative, climate-friendly mobility for regions, cities and municipalities. The award took place during the 2022 cycling summit in Vienna.
City councilor Martina Berthold accepted this prize on behalf of the municipality together with Peter Weiss (bicycle traffic coordination) and Markus Huber (road construction administration).
“Active mobility is the central building block for protecting our climate! The bike team of the city of Salzburg is therefore pedaling hard and expanding bike paths, bike garages and bike service points. The city was honored by Federal Minister Gewessler as a project partner in the klima:aktiv mobil campaign. We are pleased about this appreciation and will continue to use all opportunities to strengthen cycling in our city – because the sum of the measures makes it” says a happy Martina Berthold.
With the klimaaktiv mobil program, the Federal Ministry supports Austria’s cities, municipalities and companies with funding and advisory programs for the mobility transition.
