Bad surprise for five Total stations of Caen (Calvados) and surroundings, Monday April 4, 2022 in the morning. Twenty self-service pumps were blocked, fake bank cards having been served there overnight. This was particularly the case for the station on boulevard Yves-Guillou.
We suffered a sabotage, but things quickly went back to normal.
The resorts of Côte de Nacre and Ifs, in particular, would also have been targeted.
“Our model of society is in danger”
“Total lies” stickers had also been stuck on various terminals, leaving no doubt about the objective of this action.
In a press release entitled “Against Total and its world”, the collective La Ronce Hérouville claims these sabotages. And explains it:
(It’s been) half a century that Total has known about the possibility of unprecedented climate change due to the production of fossil fuels. For half a century, Total has implemented doubt-making strategies around the climate emergency in order to discredit the veracity of scientific data.
This environmental collective claims to choose its targets “meticulously, operation after operation”. “Our model of society is running to its loss, crushes the human being and is already dragging large swathes of life into its fall”, estimated the members.
We will never harm people’s physical integrity, but material goods don’t have feelings.
According to our information, no complaint has been filed to date.
