VIDEO. In Toulouse, the Théâtre du Capitole unveiled its new program
Christophe Ghristi, artistic director of the Théâtre du Capitole, presented yesterday a season aligning “La Bohème” or “La Traviata” but also the creation “Dafne”.
“Warmness is the theater’s worst enemy!” This is how Christophe Ghristi, the artistic director of Capitol Theaternewly labeled National Opera in the region, introduced the presentation of the new season of the Capitole opera, choir and ballet.
“The season that is ending is going very well, we improved the tremendous ripple effect of the Nuits du Capitole last summer! The line-up was good, a little glitz but that’s part of the essence of ‘ a house like ours. And the recent successes of platy and of Wozzeck we reinforce our choices, our action, that of all the teams in the house.”
For the next season, the public service mission of presenting the great repertoire is therefore continuing with enthusiasm and appetite: “We are presenting four works from the great repertoire: Bohemian (from November 26 to December 6), The Marriage of Figaro (from January 20 to 29, 2023), Tristan and Isolde (from February 26 to March 7) and La Traviata (April 21 to 30). Three entries in the Capitol repertoire: Rusalka (from October 6 to 16), The Rape of Lucretia (from May 23 to 30, 2023) and Mefistofele (from June 23 to July 2) as well as a world premiere: Dafne delivered by Geoffroy Jourdain and Aurélien Bory (from February 15 to 17 at the Garonne theater) and new faces will abound this year on stage and at the pulpit!”
