Toulouse. Parasols and deckchairs atmosphere, a company offers Airbuses with a 100% beach look

“Condor is the holidays. And the holidays are the stripes”. Self-proclaimed “Germany’s most popular leisure airline”, Condor unveiled on Monday April 4, 2022, its new brand identity: in the future, it will bear stripes in five colors, even on its planes! The vast majority of Airbuses painted with Toulouse, like this brand new A330neofresh out of the Pink City workshops.
Inspired by parasols and other bath towels
Condor, which was once a subsidiary of a travel group, has emancipated itself in recent years, to the point of becoming an independent company, without departing from its DNA… “Condor is the holidays”, insists its CEO Ralf Teckentrup. “And our new trademark is stripes.”
“Inspired by umbrellas, bath towels and beach chairs, Condor is evolving into a distinctive and unique vacation airline.”
This new identity was designed under the direction of Remo Masala, a designer based in Berlin, who intended to reconnect with “the essence of the Condor brand: holiday flight”. The “summer stripes” embodying in his eyes “joy and freedom”.
Stripes of all colors!
From now on, Condor planes will sport this funny striped look under five colors : yellow, red, blue, green and beige. In addition to planes, this new design will be noticeable on board planes, since it will also concern accessories and… the uniforms of the crew!
A brand new A330neo painted in Toulouse
This design was unveiled in Toulouse on Monday, where a first A330neo, fresh out of the Airbus factories, with its green stripes. “It will take off for Condor in the fall,” the company said.
On Tuesday, another Condor aircraft with a striped look took to the air: the Airbus A321 registered D-AIAD now sports bands yellow and flew to Lanzarote, Canary Islands, at noon.
Condor, which “anyway” had to refresh them, planned to gradually repaint most of these current aircraft: “About 80% of the fleet must be repainted by 2024”.
In the coming weeks, five more aircraft (from Airbus A320but also Boeings 757) will be repainted. They mainly connect German cities with Majorca, Greece, the Canary Islands and Egypt.
After Donald Duck and the panoply of Disney
A few days ago, another aircraft with an unusual design was seen in Toulouse: assembled and painted in the Airbus factories, a A320neo in the image of Donald Duck, legendary Disney character, appeared in the sky of the Pink City.
Donald must join his old friends Mickey and Minnie Mouse in South America. Because on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort, the gigantic theme park located in Orlando (Florida), the Brazilian company Azul Airlines had set itself, in partnership with Disney, the strange ambition of acquiring “the most magical fleet in the world”.
