That is 70 percent of all evaluated tests. A total of 55,407 tests were carried out in the other eight federal states. April average in Vienna: 147,995 tests per day
The number of new cases in Austria has been falling for several days. At least in Vienna this is not – yet – due to the decreasing number of PCR tests. how “Today” from the office of City Councilor for Health Peter Hacker (SPÖ), fewer samples have been handed out since the end of unlimited free tests on April 1st. But far more than many thought: On average, 147,995 tests have been given in Vienna every day since April 1, most of which continue to be about “everything gurgles”. In calendar week 12 (March 21 to 27) there were an average of around 155,000 tests per day or 1,086,000 tests per week. In calendar week 8 (February 21 to 27) there were 1,214,000 samples.

In Carinthia, every third test is positive
The nationally very different positivity rate, i.e. the probability of positive results measured against the total number of tests, is also exciting. While 2.57 percent of all tests evaluated in Vienna were positive on Monday, it was 11.41 percent in Lower Austria. Carinthia brings up the rear with a positivity rate of 31.18 percent – around every third person who gave a test in Carinthia on Sunday was also positive.
This revealed the completely different approach of Vienna and partly also of Eastern Austria to the subject of testing. While many in Vienna continue to do PCR tests without symptoms and to be sure, in most other federal states these are often only carried out by people with symptoms.
