With the 40:20 (18:7) home win over Eichenauer SV, the handball players from HT Munich laid the foundation for an exciting preliminary round finish in the fight for the play-off spots in the Bayernliga.
Unterhaching/Taufkirchen – HT coach Thomas Schibschid was very impressed with how his team had implemented the guidelines after the overwhelming victory in the Hachinga Halle. “We moved away from the start. That’s exactly what we said: the only danger is that we underestimate it.”
Now one could think that from contenders for the first three ranks, who in the end are entitled to participate in the promotion round, nothing else can be expected against the penultimate table. But the Schibschid squad has probably already had unpleasant experiences with another basement child: In February they did not get more than 24:24 at home against the winless tail light ASV Cham.
making amends in front of their own audience
“That was the first home game after Cham,” said Schibschid, also happy about the reparation in front of his own audience. Since that setback, his team had already found the right attitude away from home with a draw at leaders SV Anzing and sovereign success at TuS Fürstenfeldbruck II. And the HTers continued on from these performances against Eichenau: “We continued where we started against Anzing and Fürstenfeldbruck, namely getting in well from the start. Eichenau only scored five goals for a long time.”
At 17:5 in the 24th minute the game was decided long ago, the guests had no chance from the start. “And we pulled it through for 60 minutes,” praised Schibschid, whose team has now created the best conditions for the three teams going head-to-head for two free play-off spots behind the Anzingers, who have already qualified. The handball players from the Hachinger valley will play their last two crucial games against their direct rivals this week: on Thursday (8:30 p.m.) in the Hachinga Halle against TG Landshut, one day later at SG Regensburg.
Just in time for this awesome program, the HT squad has filled up again. And not only the sheer breadth of his range of players is right for Schibschid, but also the impression gained against Eichenau that he can fully rely on each of his players. “It was important to me that everything worked. The goals were distributed extremely well,” said the 38-year-old. The effects of the corona wave, which had hit the gaming community from Unterhaching and Taufkirchen with full force a few weeks ago, were still partially felt. “Julian Benecke, for example, reported after eight minutes that he was flat,” Schibschid reported. “That’s okay too. We have a broad, high-quality squad. The players know they’re coming back to the record. And they understood that we can only achieve something as a team.” Thanks to this attitude, Schibschid will be able to celebrate at the end of the week.
