From April to July in Innsbruck, in the Oberland, in the Unterland and in Lienz four new ones psychosocial centers up their service. As a first point of contact for people with mental stress and your relatives their core tasks include situation analysis, the development of strategies for action and referral to the individually appropriate offers of help.
“With the psychosocial centers we are establishing a low-threshold support offer in Tyrol, the one quick and needs-based help and care of those affected and their relatives,” says Social Minister Gabriele Fischer. “We have long known that quality of life, productivity and social participation depend on a person’s mental health. The spectrum of psychosocial stress is wide and ranges from mild mental discomfort up to severe mental illness. It is our social responsibility to put mental health on a par with the physical job and to offer people with mental illnesses the appropriate support,” Fischer continued.
“Confidential, competent, in writing and free of charge”
“The psychosocial centers are not a substitute for the existing psychosocial help offer, but rather they build on this and should ensure the fastest possible, needs-based access to the existing psychosocial help landscape in Tyrol,” emphasizes Leo AlbertManagement of the psychosocial care service in Tyrol.
“Close cooperation between different offers and the psychosocial centers should be ensured, for example, by helper conferences, networking meetings and joint training and further education. The first of the four centers to open its doors is the one in Innsbruck on April 19th. The psychosocial center in Innsbruck will be followed by the opening of the centers in Imst, Lienz and in the Unterland (location to be determined).
