Elite 1 – The good operation for which Albi wins in Avignon – Rugby à XIII
Important match in the race for Elite 1 qualifying places between Avignon, 4th, and Albi, 6th.
The Tigers entered the match better and Baptiste Fabre scored his team’s first six points thanks to a try that he converted himself. Vincent Salphiti responds for the Bisons and the score is 6 all at the half hour mark.
A few minutes before half-time, Joris Bissière allowed SOA to take the lead, but Avignon was only four points ahead at the break as Baptiste Fabre fouls the siren, 12-8.
Albi walks past
Returning from the locker room, Jack Cook scores and allows Albi to come back up, but Pio Seci’s response is immediate for the Bisons. It’s transformed for the locals, 18-12.
The mano a mano continues, Brad Wall serves Tristan Dupuy who is on trial and the two teams are again tied, 18 everywhere. Nittim Pedrero scores from a corner and gives Albi the lead for the first time in the game. Baptiste Fabre passes a complicated transformation, 18-24.
Chase Bernard allows the Tigers to break a few minutes from the end and Vincent Salphiti’s double does not change anything. Albi wins 30 to 24 and comes back up to Avignon in the standings.
