As part of the presidential campaign of the Europe Ecologie les Verts candidate, Yannick Jadot, Toulouse activists are organizing thematic public meetings. This Saturday morning, at the Bistro Crampel, Antoine Maurice, Toulouse opposition municipal councilor (EELV), Angela Bovo, member of the Aéro Décarbo association, Maxime Léonard, member of the collective Think aeronautics for tomorrow (PAD) and union delegate at Airbus, and Xavier Petrachi, retired from Airbus, trade unionist at the CGT, discussed the future of the aeronautics industry in the light of global warming and ecological transition.
A slippery slope which had earned the leader of the Archipel list, during the municipal elections of 2020, to be accused of descending and anti-aircraft. Antoine Maurice always denies it. It is not anti-aircraft, he assures, but pleads for a certain sobriety that must be anticipated. “It must be noted that this industry will not be able to continue to develop” due to environmental constraints and international agreements. “It is better not to suffer an industrial disaster, like Rodez with Bosch and diesel engines. »
For the participants, the role of the public authorities is “to support ecological conversion and diversification”. Aeronautical skills “can be used in many other areas”, in particular for the benefit of ecological transition. Maxime Léonard also insisted on the “financial logic which guides Airbus”, which, with 4 billion net, has “never made as many profits as in 2021”, he underlined.
On April 4, at 8 p.m., another debate is organized on the theme of mobility at the Maison de la citoyenne de la Roserait, avenue du Parc.
