It is a necessary period in the history of Slovakia
Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OĽANO) described his first year in office as very demanding.
He recalled several events, the visit of Pope Francis, the fight against the pandemic and the situation in Ukraine, reforms and the recovery plan. He declared that he wanted to do his job even better.
“It’s been a very challenging year. It’s probably a year in my life. Naturally, it’s probably the best year in Slovakia’s history. I have to see an opportunity to move Slovakia forward at all times.He claims.
He called his appointment a challenging moment for the entire government, as after lengthy negotiations during the government crisis, they found a way forward. He thanked for the trust.
Of his duties, he recalled the first foreign trip that led to the Czech Republic, as well as other summits at which he represented Slovakia.
According to him, the visits of foreign leaders prove that we have good relations and that the countries want to cooperate with us. He also highlighted the trips around the regions of Slovakia and underlined the need for cooperation with local governments.
He called the approval of the recovery plan an important moment of the past year. “It was a big breath when we managed to hand over the recovery plan“He stated.
They think that most people in Slovakia want reforms and that they take us out of the usual sidewalks, they are important for Slovakia.
Heger also mentioned his first trip to Ukraine, which he described as an important partner. He reiterated his opposition to Russian aggression. He pointed to the refugee crisis related to the war in Ukraine.
“We solved the problems that arose at the border with the onslaught of people on the marchAccording to him, the situation is managed thanks to the help of local governments, volunteers, churches, non-governmental organizations and other entities, to which he thanked.
The government of Eduard Heger was appointed by the President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová on April 1, 2021. After the government crisis, Heger succeeded Igor Matovič (OĽANO), who became Minister of Finance.
