On Friday, border guards prevented 63 migrants from Belarus from entering Belarus illegally, the State Border Guard Service (SBGS) said on Saturday.
Latvia did not admit two such foreigners trying to leave Belarus. Polish border guards turned 37 illegal migrants on Thursday.
According to the SBGS, ten shots from an automatic weapon were fired at the Druskininkai municipality on the Belarusian side on Saturday night.
A total of 1,147 illegal migrants were not allowed from Belarus to Lithuania this year.
This number is twice as low as those who tried to enter Latvia more (2,593) and almost three times lower than those who did not enter Poland (3,216, excluding Friday’s data).
Since the beginning of August, when the SBGS acquired the right not to admit illegal migrants, more than 8,100 have not been admitted to Lithuania. Some of them report to you more than once.
Border control in the areas of responsibility of Lithuania at the EU external border continues to be intensified.
Last year, almost 4,200 migrants entered Belarus illegally from Belarus.
Western countries accuse the Minsk regime of organizing migratory flows and call it hybrid aggression.
