the epidemic returns to Monaco, strong absenteeism in companies
In the Alpes-Maritimes, the viruses are progressing again. A situation that our Monegasque neighbors are also experiencing.
The incidence rate notably exceeded the symbolic milestone of 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, to reach 1,050 cases on March 28. A week before, that rate was 910.
A figure not so far from that of the Alpes-Maritimes. As explained in our last report, our department is one of the territories least affected by the epidemic recovery with 1,164 cases detected on average on March 27.
The positivity rate was 20.29% on March 28, almost three points higher than March 21.

At the Princess Grace Hospital Center (CHPG), 24 Covid patients were treated as of March 31, including a non-resident Monegasque patient installed in intensive care.
Shortly after France, the principality had also lifted some of its health restrictions:
- wearing a mask outdoors is no longer compulsory, but remains maintained in indoor public spaces for people over 5 years old
- the “health pass” is no longer compulsory except in health establishments and collective accommodation structures for the elderly
- gatherings in public space remain limited to 10 people
For its part, “remote work is recommended and no longer compulsory” indicates the government on its site.
The increase in contaminations nevertheless generates a “high rate of absenteeism” among Monegasque companies, with a preference among employees for teleworking.
