New coordinator for refugee children in schools

In order to facilitate the integration of Ukrainian children in Salzburg schools, there will be a coordinator who also speaks Ukrainian from next week. Visit 250 children and young people from the war zone in Salzburg schools. About 20 join them every day – most of them are elementary school students.
The new coordinator takes over as the contact person for the school authorities for students, parents, teachers and directors.
Prospective German and religion teacher
Myroslava Mashkarynets came to Salzburg with her mother when she was nine. In the last semester you are studying German and religion at the University of Salzburg to become a teacher. The association “Ukrainisches Zentrum” in Salzburg made her aware of the new position as coordinator.
Helping war refugees from their old homeland is a matter of personal concern to her: “I was able to live in this beautiful country myself for nine years. If I can now make a small contribution with my skills, then I am very grateful.”
Starting next week, Mashkarynets will help with the integration of refugee children and young people in schools: “The specific tasks include the preparation of information material, support during discussions, advice, establishing contacts and coordination.”
