Near Toulouse, drug trafficking brought in €300,000: six people arrested, two weapons of war recovered
The gendarmes of the Toulouse Mirail company’s research brigade put an end to organized drug trafficking in the north-west of the department. This would have generated more than €300,000 in turnover in one year. Two sniper rifles were found during the searches.
In just over a year, their drug trafficking would have generated €300,000 in turnover. Five men and a woman were arrested by the gendarmes of the research brigade of the Toulouse-Mirail company on Tuesday. They are all indicted for their participation in a drug network organized in the northwest of the department.
The military investigation restarts in April 2021. During an intervention for a rape case, the police discover an apartment transformed into a cocaine storage room. The white powder is weighed, packaged and then kept there until the sellers come to collect it. 100 grams of products are seized that day and the prosecution opens an investigation which it entrusts to an investigating judge. The investigations extend over several months. Hours dedicated to eavesdropping and shadowing make it possible to discover the existence of a real drug delivery network. At its head, a 33-year-old man who lives in Beauzelle but has many contacts at the Reynerie. The other five are responsible for taking orders and delivering them to customers. In just over a year, at least €300,000 would have been earned thanks to this mode of operation. The clientele would mainly come from the communes of Beauzelle, Blagnac, Grenade and Léguevin.
Two sniper rifles and ammunition
But everything suddenly stopped on Tuesday. In the early morning, 70 gendarmes from the Toulouse-Mirail company, accompanied by those from the PSIG de Muret, that of Colomiers and the canine brigade, intervened throughout the department to carry out a major dragnet. One of the individuals was also arrested in Charente. During the searches, the soldiers got their hands on two kilos of cannabis, ecstasy, cocaine but above all two sniper rifles and ammunition. Weapons of war that will be analyzed by specialists in the last few weeks. A luxury vehicle, which would have been used for delivery, was also recovered by the police.
For more than 48 hours, the six suspects assisted by Mare Morgane Dupoux, Emmanuelle Franck, Jacques Derieux, Alexandre Martin and Pierre Lebonjour answered numerous questions from the investigators. Then they were put on trial. Three of them are left under judicial supervision during the investigation by letters rogatory. The other three are in the process of being presented.
