Toulouse. “Aidons-nous” honors a committed volunteer
Nothing seems to have a price on the association “Help us”. Except perhaps the years of presence on the ground which could end up wearing out the volunteers, whose ranks have not been reinforced. Because it takes constant energy to make an association helping the poorest people work. 346 households were registered in the registers in 2021, half of which were without income. 1985 food parcels and hygiene products were distributed. To accomplish this heavy work, the team would need to be rejuvenated. But that day, the subject was different. Gathered around Josette Bacou, the volunteers recently received a visit from Corinne Vignon, MP for the 3rd district. She didn’t come empty-handed. After learning a lot about the association’s activities, she presented a gift and the medal of the national assembly to a volunteer who never counted her time in the team, Marie-Louise Lescure. Living in Les Amidonniers, a musician playing the cello and the harmonium, she always found the time to get involved, sometimes driving her personal vehicle, collecting and allocating recovered furniture to the most modest. Very moved after this time of sharing and in gratitude, she straddled her faithful bicycle, struggling with energy against a tenacious autan wind as she has always been too, for her fellows.
