Toulouse. A new funeral center adapted to relieve that of Cornebarrieu, saturated

A second funerary pole has been described at 12 avenue de Gameville In Toulouse. With a cremation rate which keeps growing, the Métropole has invested to better meet the demands of its inhabitants.
An ambitious project covering nearly 12,200m²
Thursday, March 10, Jean-Luc Moudenc, Mayor of Toulouse and President of Toulouse
Métropole, was present for the inauguration of this new space inspired by Toulouse buildings like the Jacobins or the Augustins.
“The Pôle Funéraire Toulouse Métropole Sud offers, in a contemporary and green setting, facilities adapted and perfectly integrated into their environment both from an architectural and landscape point of view”.
Several facilities
The funeral center Toulouse Metropolis south located in a non-urbanized area includes a crematorium (the second in Haute-Garonne), three ceremonial rooms, a convivial space, meeting rooms and user reception desks. Gardens by means of ash dispersion zones are also made available in this new funeral centre. As pointed out the Toulouse metropolis, “the whole was designed to meet the expectations of families supported by bereavement”.
Cremation rates on the rise
The department’s first crematorium located in Cornebarrieu had been saturated for several months. Nowadays, 40.6% of Toulouse residents choose cremation. The Toulouse Metropolis has also announced that these figures increases by about 1% every year. This new equipment was therefore an essential aid in order to relieve the crematorium of Cornebarrieu and therefore to shorten waiting times.
