The Easter market returns to the Main Square after a two-year break
Okay. 80 exhibitors will present their products during this year’s Easter Fair, which will return to the Main Square in Krakow after two years. The event runs from April 7 to 18.
The Easter market in the Main Market Square was organized regularly until the outbreak of the pandemic. The event is connected with preparations for Easter, it also refers to rituals, regional traditions, folklore of Małopolska and the districts of Krakow, as well as to the folklore of Zwierzyniec.
Visitors to the fair can buy Christmas delicacies, handicrafts made by craftsmen’s tools. In the intention of the organizers, the fair has the opportunity to get to know Małopolska and Krakow, to make this change in culinary, artistic and craft practices.
During this year’s fair, 80 exhibitors will present their products.
“I am glad that it is possible to do in the Stalinist Market Square after a two-year break and for a novice to present himself in a changed and presented colors. Our Rollers with the display of the configuration of standing systems, new, original assortment, in fashion we also show a reference to the next workshop” – said the president of the Merchant Congregation Wiesław Jopek.
The leitmotif of the event is to be the Emaus betlewicz, referring to the Emaus science, resembled in the form of a competition. This tradition dates back to pre-Christian times and the belief that the souls of the dead come back in the form of birds and looking for trees for protection in the branches. Traditional Emaus trees consisted of a nest with figurines of chicks or a figurine of a bird mounted on a stick decorated with leaves. The tree also symbolizes a new life to life.
The fair will be accompanied by performances by electric bands.
On Easter Saturday, at 11, there will be a ceremonial blessing of Easter baskets.
