The director of the Egyptian museum of Turin Christian Greco guest in Verona on April 2, 2022 Events in Verona
On July 1, 1991, the Friends of the Museum of Castelvecchio was founded, which later became the Friends of the Civic Museums of Verona. Thirty years after those data, aware of the importance of the mission, it was deemed necessary to recall the quantity and quality of the activities carried out by the association and the numerous people involved who voluntarily dedicated their time with dedication and professionalism. Thus was created the volume “Friends of thirty years 1991-2021” edited by Alberto Vignolo and Anna Pasti (Scripta edizioni), recently distributed which, through the analysis of thirty rooms of a museum of the museums of our city , metaphorically celebrates the anniversary.
But there is a second event that the Friends of the Civic Museums of Verona association has strongly wanted, to underline the need for an always lively, direct and functional cultural relationship with the Italian museum world. This is why he invited Christian Greco, director of the Egyptian museum in Turin, to our city. He is an internationally renowned Egyptologist, who has developed since his advent in the structure in 2015, at the age of only 38, extraordinary changes that have led to the transformation of the institution from an antiquarian museum to an archaeological museum and that have been hailed by the entire sector. The international collaborations initiated with museums, universities and research institutes around the world and his great experience in multiple cultural institutions experience him as one of the youngest and most esteemed directors of the great museum institutions in the world today.
