This Friday, April 1, Toulouse Capitole University is organizing introductions to several parasports, supervised by the Stade Toulousain Handisport, as well as testimonials from athletes with disabilities. Objective of the event: improve inclusion and delve into the daily lives of disabled athletes.
Wheelchair rugby, blind football or even seated volleyball, here are the sports to try at Toulouse Capitole University this Friday, April 1, as part of the “Paralymp Games”.
The initiations will take place on the university campus from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., prohibited by the Sade Toulousain Handisport, and in particular David Berty, former French international rugby union player and now wheelchair rugby player.
The initiation to parasport allows, of course, to discover a discipline, but also to make the general public aware of the performance of disabled athletes.

In addition to offering introductions to different sports, the “Paralymp’ Games” also organize a round table with athletes with disabilities who will testify from 10 am.
“The testimonials allow to transmit to the students the values of inclusion and to answer the questions that they transmit to each other, because certain subjects still remain taboo in the world of parasportconsidering Jonathan Hiverant. There is also the idea of being a source of inspiration for future generations.“, adds the sportsman.
According to the captain of the French wheelchair rugby team, disabled sport has experienced a real democratization in recent years, in particular with the live broadcast of the Paralympic Games since 2016.
