Director Paul Haggis will chair the jury of the Monte-Carlo Film Festival de la Comédie
The Oscar-winning screenwriter, producer, director and director will chair the jury for the event, scheduled for April 25-30 at the Grimaldi Forum.
He is behind some of the greatest masterpieces of the seventh art. Paul Haggis, director of Collision and screenwriter of Casino Royale and of Million dollar babywill head the jury for the 19th edition of the Monte-Carlo Film Festival de la Comédie.
” I’m thrilled to be president of the jury this year and look forward to laughing out loud with the others – making a batch of movies – in a dark room all week. Thank you for allowing me to do this and for being able to add more titles to this list of – favorite – films that I will never make “said the director.
Ezio Greggio, founder and president of the Festival, is also delighted with the arrival of the Canadian artist: ” Paul, a great connoisseur of cinema, an ironic and humorous person, loves comedy and we adore him and we await him with open arms in the Principality during a Festival which will welcome films from Canada, Colombia, ‘ Spain, Italy, Germany, Sweden and other countries. »
For the moment, the list of films screened (in competition and out of competition) has not yet been revealed. A section, called “Short Comedy Awards”, will also be entirely dedicated to short films, to reward filmmakers, actors and producers who have made short cinematic comedies. The traditional Gala Evening and the Prize Giving will take place on April 30, at the closing of the Festival.
