Shingo Natsume’s Sonny Boy Anime In Competition At Annecy This Year – News
This year, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival announced on Tuesday that the first episode of Shingo Natsume and Crazy’s houseThe original sci-fi anime from sonny boy is screened in competition at this year’s event in the TV Movies category.
Among the other Japanese works in competition presented “Anxious Body” by Yoriko Mizushiri, “Bird in the Peninsula” by Atsushi Wada, “Honekami” by Honami Yano and “Krasue” by Ryo Hirano in the category of official short films, and Koji Yamamuraof “Hokkyoku-Guma Suggoku Hima” in the Young Audience Short Films category.
Created in 1960, Annecy is the oldest and largest animation film festival in the world. This year’s event will take place from June 13-18 in the French town of the same name.
The 12 episodes sonny boy series premiered in July 2021. Funimation streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.
The sci-fi ensemble drama centers around 36 boys and girls. On August 16, in the midst of a seemingly never-ending middle school summer vacation, Nagara’s third-year student, mysterious disabled student Nozomi, and their classmates are presumed to be transported from their quiet daily lives to a drifting school in another dimension. They must survive with the powers that have awakened within them.
Natsume designed the story and directed and wrote the anime at Crazy’s house. Norifumi Kugai (ACCA: 13 Territory Inspection Department.) handled the anime character designs based on the original designs by manga artist and illustrator Hisashi Euguchi (perfect blue, Roujin Z, Eiji, Stop! Hibari-kun, Mujin Wakusei Survive).
