Rouens. Menstrual panties distributed free of charge to newly arrived students

On the Pasteur Campus, Thursday March 31, 2022 and Friday April 1, 2022 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the hall next to the CROUS university restaurant, Rouen University Normandy will distribute free period panties to all newcomer students.
More than 4,000 students concerned
The university’s press release states: “In order to lift the taboo surrounding menstruation and menstrual hygiene, to promote access for all to essential products and to offer an alternative to conventional sanitary protection, the University organizes on its various campuses a distribution of menstrual panties to all newcomer students from 2021-2022. »
An action implemented since the beginning of this month: “Student health relays, preventive medicine staff (SUMPPS) and the student life office (BVE) trained ensure the distributions by going to meet the students on each campus since the beginning of March 2022. Funded by the CVEC*, this action concerns more than 4,000 students. »
Upcoming release dates:
Campus Pasteur: Thursday March 31 and Friday April 1 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the hall next to the CROUS university restaurant.
Elbeuf Campus: Tuesday April 5 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the IUT cafeteria.
Évreux campus: Thursday April 7 (Navarre site – hall building G) and Friday April 8 (Tilly site – hall) between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The university also recalls that “according to a study carried out by the Federation of General Student Associations (FAGE) in February 2021, 13% of the students consulted declared that they had already chosen due between protections and another object of first necessity. Six out of ten say they have already missed class because of their period. »
