“Despite the fact that I am Russian, in my soul I am Kazakh,” reports Vyacheslav Shvyrev – Sport of Kazakhstan
Vyacheslav Shvyrev, forward of the youth team of Kazakhstan, spoke about the draw in the game with Scotland (2:2) in the Euro qualification.
– Despite the fact that we reproduced 0:2, I think that this game should have ended in our use. We demanded so many chances that were not scored. It will probably miss the socket – the most offensive. All teams know that there is character in Kazakhstan, that Kazakhs can and always strive. We are glad that we compared, but there is a sediment that we did not leave the field as winners.
What was it like playing in such harsh weather conditions? Have you had such matches in your career?
– So that later it would rain first, and snow – this definitely did not happen. Running on the floor, I got the feeling that I didn’t have legs, but some kind of stones. It was very difficult, although the day before the game the weather was normal. But everything is equipped that there will be such a game and we were preparing for it. The fans supported us, and in spite of everything we rushed only forward.
What do you think was the turning point in the game?
– We, the Kazakhs, have a character. Despite the fact that I am Russian, in my heart I am Kazakh. It was clear from the boys’ eyes that we were not letting the Scots leave as winners, especially with our fans.
