Rally Team: after San Marino Bertazzolo thinks of CRZ
The pilot from Maserà di Padova, at the traditional circuit, gives Rally Team the second in class A5, touching the podium in the RC5N group, contemplating the assault on the fifth zone.
First of the season in the shadow of Monte Titano for Fabio Bertazzolo and a more than promising start, yielded the second position in the A5 class, the fourth in the RC5N group overall and more than thirty-first place overall.
A substantial loot, collected at the wheel of the small Citroen AX group A on the occasion of the traditional Scuderia San Marino circuit, a classic of the blue-white rally scene.
A significant result, the one gained with Samuele Valzano at the notes, enhancing a crew created through the web and known almost to the end of the reconnaissance.
“It was a strange seasonal debut” – says Bertazzolo – “Because I found Samuele, as a navigator, only three days before registration for the event closed. A twenty-seven year old boy, who arrived from Liguria and met through a YouTube channel. We showed up when the reconnaissance was ten minutes away. Just enough time to take two notes and get ready to face the race. The feeling with him was immediately good. “
The pilot from Maserà di Padova, competing for the colors of Rally teamarrived to break the second part of the class in each of the four heats scheduled for Sunday, on a track of just over two kilometers, climbing the hierarchies both in the group general, passing from sixth to fourth place, and in the absolute classification, from thirty-fifth to thirty-first final.
“We are very satisfied with the result obtained” – adds Bertazzolo – “Also counting that I had met the navigator only a few hours before. On the first heat I tried to understand a little about the tires and the brakes also because the start was located twenty meters after our assistance. From the second lap we started having fun and we got significantly closer to the pace of the first. Our AX has a really great engine and we were also able to find the right balance with the tires, medium at the front and soft at the rear. Although not a rally, it is a fun event and on tracks with many road changes, like these, ours defends itself very well. Heartfelt thanks to Federico Turco for his truly top assistance. “
A first taste of 2022 that could lead Bertazzolo to a fixed commitment in the ACI Sport Rally Cup of zone five, starting next from the Adriatic Rally in mid-May, but without giving up the whim of taking part, at the end of April, in an unprecedented Rally Dolomiti Brenta .
“Our idea would be to face the ACI Sport Rally Cup in the fifth zone” – concludes Bertazzolo – “And to start with the Adriatic Rally, on land, and then move away with Salsomaggiore Terme and the City of Modena. At the construction site we are preparing a Fiat Panda Kit Car, a small car that is decidedly perky. Meanwhile, we are curious to see this Dolomiti Brenta Rally that will take us to race in Trentino, at the end of April, in Andalo. “
