What is stress ?
We have all experienced it before! Sometimes there is even a desire to remove it, to make it disappear from our lives. Of course, that’s impossible! Stress is a response of our body to maintain our organism in a functional state. An external event will prompt us and we will react to it. Stress is not a problem when it comes to short episodes. When it is prolonged, on the other hand, it is more annoying. It is mentally and physically exhausting.
Anxiety is not stress
There, it is rather a vague emotion, a feeling without being able to determine what is at the origin. Anxiety is a rather general feeling unrelated to a specific threat. We experience apprehension, insecurity and even discomfort.
This can bring mood swings or even nervousness.
How to relieve stress and anxiety?
First step regarding stress : accept that he will always be part of our lives. Stress, moreover, can be positive when it is controlled and for a short time.
You can also learn to manage your stress level. A bit like a slider that could be moved up or down on command. Besides, self-hypnosis is a useful tool!
For anxiety, which has no apparent reason, we will have to look for the trigger mechanisms that are created at an unconscious level. It therefore has an origin, but it is more difficult to identify than for stress.
Another tip: pay attention to parasitic thoughts. Often, anxious people tend to switch to predictions. They imagine what could happen, and it is often negative scenarios that overwhelm them.
But good news: putting aside your parasitic thoughts can also be learned!
