ORF III on Wednesday: premiere doubles “Home Austria: Life in the Lavanttal” and “Country Life: In the Pillerseetal”
Also: “treffpunkt medizin” new production “Health myths: 10 questions about digestion”, during the day “Darwin’s Circle”
Vienna (OTS) – On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, ORF III Culture and Information takes the new edition of “Heimat Österreich” to Carinthia in the Lavanttal and “Landleben” travels to the Pillerseetal in Tyrol in another premiere. Beginning with the new production “Health myths: 10 questions about digestion”, ORF III shows two “meeting point medicine” documentaries in the late evening.
In the afternoon, ORF III will first broadcast two discussions from the “Darwin’s Circle” digital conference, which will take place on the same day in the Palais Ferstel in Vienna: The opening discussion will deal with the future of the digital economy after the Ukraine war (1.50 p.m.). Moderator Wolfang Geier (ORF) interviewed Finance Minister Magnus Brunner, Benedikt Franke, Chief Executive Officer, Munich Security Conference, and Katrin Suder, management consultant and former State Secretary in the German Ministry of Defense. This will be followed by a discussion on “The media and platforms of Generation Z” (2:25 p.m.). Moderator Stefan Lenglinger (ORF) talks to Stefan Pollach (Head of ORF Player), Juan Saldivar (Chief Digital, Strategy and Accountability Officer of Entravision) and how young people get their information from and how they interact with social platforms compared to traditional media Sven Bieber (Head of Ad Sales Germany & Austria at Spotify).
In the main evening, a new production of “Heimat Österreich” will focus on “Life in the Lavant Valley” (8:15 p.m.). Alfred Ninaus has explored this area of Carinthian traditions and shows how the people here live in the spirit of previous generations and yet look to a healthy and sustainable tomorrow. The mountain farmer Werner Riedl, for example, manages his mountain farm at an altitude of 1,300 meters. He is one of only a few farmers who have saved their farm to the present day.
Then, in another premiere, everything revolves around “country life: in the Pillerseetal” (9:05 p.m.). Director Christian Papke immerses himself in the charm of mountain life in this Tyrolean region – for example at the farm of the Pletzenauer family, with Harald Wechselberger from the fruit and gardening association or with Peter Eder in the tavern. This is followed by the production “Country Life: A Country Outing by Train” (9:55 p.m.).
ORF III will open the two-part “meeting point medicine” evening with the new issue “Health Myths: 10 Questions About Digestion” (10:30 p.m.), which gets to the bottom of questions about the beginning of digestion, one’s own type of digestion and behaviors that promote digestion. At 11:20 p.m., the documentary “Medical Meeting Point: Abdominal Brain & Life Center: The Intestine” follows.
