Impulse for circular manufacturing industry in the east of the Netherlands
The CESI-ON, Circular Smart Industry East Netherlands programme, was recently applied for. BOOST Circular, part of BOOST Smart Industry, will use this program to help entrepreneurs with (the transition to) circular entrepreneurship. This is important, because the certainty of availability and payment changes quickly. Moreover, circular entrepreneurship enhances the future of companies. The CESI-ON program focuses on companies in the manufacturing industry that are active in the chain of suppliers and producers of profits.
Manufacturing industry in the east of the Netherlands leads the way
A number of companies in the manufacturing industry in the east of the Netherlands are leaders in the field of circular and innovative entrepreneurship. In addition, the East Netherlands has the ambition to have a 50% circular economy by 2030 and a 100% circular economy by 2050. Helga Witjes, Deputy for Economy and Innovation of the Province of Gelderland: ‘That requires the verb of experiences and mounted. That is why this boost for circular entrepreneurship, a lean company also takes a critical look at circular and therefore affordable and reusable raw materials. Overijssel’s Deputy for Economy, Eddy van Hijum adds: ‘Climatic, simple economic and power development confirm the greater importance of a circular economy. Circular efforts for less loss of value and limited environmental impact. Moreover, it contributes to a future-proof revenue model.’
In this transition to circularity, 17 partners are working together in this program. A wide range of first and second-line counters, branch organisations, knowledge institutions and financial organisations. On behalf of the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel, the program management is in the hands of Oost NL. BOOST Smart Industry brings the program to the attention of entrepreneurs under the banner of BOOST Circular
Enlarging the future is an important goal
With the introduction of BOOST Circular, the parties involved are making a contribution to increasing the future of companies in the manufacturing industry. Other goals of circular entrepreneurship are to increase the security of supply of raw materials, for example by focusing more on reuse. Furthermore, circular entrepreneurship contributes to reducing value loss and limiting the environmental impact. Edward Rosendaal, CEO of VConsyst bv from Genemuiden, says: ‘We want to do business in a socially responsible and climate-conscious way and contribute to CO2 reduction. That requires an adjustment of our business model.’
BOOST Circular offers customization
With CESI-ON, BOOST Circular offers instruments, knowledge and resources to help entrepreneurs realize a circular revenue model. Which instruments these are depends on the needs of the entrepreneur. BOOST Circular offers opportunities that suit the business situation and tailor-made solutions.
National example
The program is seen nationally as an example when it comes to stimulating circular and smart entrepreneurship. Witjes and Van Hijum expect that more national and European resources will be free. This allows the program to be further supported and slim to be further developed.
