Toulouse. VTC drivers on strike against fuel prices
About sixty VTC drivers parked their vehicles at Boulevard de l’Embouchure in Toulouse, causing slowdowns on Monday March 28. They are on strike against the price of gasoline and the domination of VTC platforms.
Drivers of VTC applications are called to go on strike Monday March 28 and Tuesday March 29 in six cities in France, Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Toulouse and Nantes. Some 30,000 employees of digital platforms are called to demonstrate, in particular against rising fuel prices, like farmers.
Like all motorists, they will benefit from a reduction of 18 cents per litre, but they are instead asking for specific state aid, such as the energy check, which was refused to them. VTC drivers are also demonstrating against the domination of digital platforms that increase their commissions while lowering prices. Uber has also announced that it will increase course package up to 76 cents.
