It is planned to create a cultural center on the basis of the House of Fleet Officers in the village of Ekipazh on English Island. However, there is still a lot of work ahead. This was announced by the director of ANO “Our World” Anatoly Solovyov (with this feature of a private person under a lease agreement). How the repair is going on, was examined by the deputy head of the city administration during a working trip Daria Stegniy.
The building of the DOFA at one time was a real special cultural life of the island of English – at a time when the island was a purely military territory. Meetings, cultural events were held, films were shown, concerts were given. Then for many years the object was abandoned. Now the building is in municipal ownership and in the fall of 2021 it was leased for 10 years to a non-profit organization to create a cultural center.
The main part of the building was built in 1910, from the house to the arrest in the 30s of the last century. Today, its technical condition is deplorable – major repairs of all structures are required. And this repair
“We cleared some of the premises of debris, dismantled rotten ceilings, wooden floors, installed several new plastic windows, the restoration of structures is underway,” said the director of ANO Nash Mir. Anatoly Solovyov. – Water supply has been restored, and a contract for energy supply will be signed in the near future. It is required to provide on-site sewerage, this issue is currently being worked out. According to the project, it is planned to link here children’s circles, sections, an exhibition hall, a cafe-bakery, and repair the auditorium.
ANO “Our World” includes various competitions – dance, music, art. This work is planned to be carried out on the basis of DOP.

“Several times we held subbotniks in construction and on the territory of the square, in which people of different ages participated,” said the chairman of the TPS council. Petr Gulyaev. “The construction work is also part of the team, which includes specialists from among the residents of the village.”
The meeting was attended by young artists – a member of the creative association “Vladivostok – the city of artists.” According to his representative Lion Kalenikov, artists are ready in the future to take part in the design of art spaces here, to teach children. Deputy Head of Administration Daria Stegniy supported the idea and suggested resolving the issue with municipal children’s art schools – in the future, students of art departments could really come here for plein air.
