A handful of parents of students from the Reynerie district gathered in front of the Departmental Council of Haute-Garonne, Thursday March 24, 2022, to challenge the sectorization desired by the department. In question: the social mix plan for the new college of Saint-Simon, south-west of Toulouse, will exclude their children, to the detriment of their proximity.
Students assigned to Guilhermy
The Department had however assured that the students of the Reynerie could be educated in this new establishment when the Raymond-Badiou and Bellefontaine colleges were destroyed, and provided for citizen consultation. Wasted effort, students will be assigned to Guilhermynew establishment considered much less accessible from the Reynerie.
the disappearance of Bad Sinceiou, the students were divided in the colleges of Fermat, Michelet, Bellevue, or even Balma (Haute Garonne). “We can’t send the children so far: it tires them, it prevents them from concentrating. It destroyed their lives! We do not accept it, ”supports Oukjij, whose children are educated in primary school at Reynerie.
“They go back on their word”
A resident shows the letters from the Department which promised the students of Badiou tohave access to the college of Saint-Simon : “It will be intended to accommodate students from the Saint-Simon and Reynerie-Bellefontaine districts. “Then they told us that this college was not for Reynerie children, so they go back on their word. »
“The Department carried out a consultation on the sectorization. Reynerie’s parents filled out questionnaires and petitions. We sent them over 150 signatures, they decided to ignore it. »
The Department has decided to replace the Badiou secondary school with that of Saint-Simon as part of a plan to improve social diversity. “The central problem is that students from the wealthiest socio-professional categories are sucked into private education,” explains Yannick Delpoux, deputy secretary of FO Education.
“We want to gentrify a neighborhood”
“We see that the Mirail is really targeted from all sides: by work, by education, by housing. They want the neighborhood to no longer exist », laments Oukjij. “We want to gentrify a neighborhood,” concluded Yannick Delpoux.
