The CSI at the City of Florence Trophy with 18 athletes And the spoils are rich: four gold medals
Fourth place in the ranking of clubs, out of eighty-four participating clubs. This is the balance sheet that Csi Nuoto can draw up a proposal for the 25th edition of the ‘City of Florence Trophy’ of Master swimming, which took place a few days ago in the swimming pool of San Marcellino. Almost a thousand athletes took part in the event. The Prato association was represented by a delegation made up of eighteen swimmers, who were able to bring home four golds, nine silvers and as many bronzes, for twenty two medals. Giulia Malcotti (gold in the 50 frog and 50 dolphin) Sergio Puggelli (silver in the 100 medley and bronze 50 frog) Francesca Castellani (bronze in the 50 back and 100 back) Suellen Mannori (gold 50 dolphin and silver in the 200 medley) Veronica Bessi (gold in the 50 dolphin and silver in the 200 medley) Gianluca Frosini (silver in the 50 dolphin) Matteo Malpaganti bronze in the 50 frog) Cristina Raggiante (silver in the 50 frog and 200 medley) Lorenzo Cecchi (silver in the 50 dolphin and bronze in the 50 frog) Claudio Tricoli (bronze in the 100 mixed) Andrea Zuppa (silver in the 50 dolphin) Lorenzo Innocenti (gold in the 50 style and bronze in the 100 style) Anna Manzo (bronze in the 100 style) and Elisa Olivieri, silver in the 200 mixed and bronze in the 50 breaststroke. “We can be satisfied with the results obtained – commented the technical director Sergio Puggelli – the team gave its best in an event that saw the participation of high-sounding names, including several former national teams”. And for the CSI it is now time to think about the organization of the ‘Trofeo Città di Prato – Federico Bertini Memorial’, which will start on May 28th.
