E.On is building the first energy community in Eastern Hungary in Szolnok
The essence of the project is that the institutions of Szolnok are connected to energy communities. All this contributes significantly to the achievement of the city’s climate strategic goals as soon as possible, as well as to a more cost-effective energy supply.
I believe that environmental awareness is the foundation for creating a secure future, so we are all responsible
– said in his speech dr. Member of Parliament Mária Kállai.
– Szolnok always plays a key role and has been a partner in many innovation opportunities, so this is not surprising. I am convinced that every penny of this nearly one billion HUF 200,000 grant awarded by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology is a very good investment in the future, in the local community, and in the long run it is a profitable investment.
Illés Úsz, the representative of the State Secretariat for the Circular Development, Energy and Climate Policy of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, emphasized that Szolnok was one of the first in the country to recognize the importance of environmental awareness and to compile a complex program.
“This has become the HEART project, which can be called an energy community, a project to increase energy efficiency, energy production and energy cost efficiency, but it is definitely a forward-looking program,” said Illés Úsz.
Zsolt Jamniczky, Deputy CEO of the E.ON Hungária Group, recalled that Szolnok has been involved in energy innovations for a decade and has been cooperating with the city since 2010.
He explained that as part of the HEART project, nine solar panels will be installed in six locations to produce green energy. To this end, a storage facility will be set up and the buildings will be connected to each other, thus creating a community, but the replacement of windows and insulation will also take place.
they will also go further in the greening of transport, as they will install additional chargers in Szolnok, which will be powered by solar energy. The implementation and execution of this complex project will be entrusted to local businesses.
We learned from the mayor Ferenc Szalay that the six locations are the Rainbow, the Gézengúz and Nyitnikék kindergarten, the building of the Health and Nursery Directorate, the medical offices on Városmajor út and the buildings A, B and C at 35 Mester utca.
