“A child in the hell of the feminicide“. This is the subtitle of the book He killed my motherreleased Wednesday, March 23, 2022, and written by Rachid Lamara and Manon Loubet (also a journalist at 76news).
In this book written with four hands, Rachid Lamara recounts the tragedy of the murder of his mother by his father, and the consequences that this feminicide had on his childhood, on his family. “I can’t explain why, but I opened up to Manon,” reports Rachid Lamara, who met him while the journalist was reporting in an association in Rouen where he was a volunteer. “Rachid spoke to me a lot, slowly, and I agreed to lend my pen,” adds Manon Loubet.
“We talk a lot about feminicides, but not enough about the children who remain”
So together they organized work sessions: “We rented an apartment in Rouen, and we did a week of intensive interviews,” recalls the journalist.
How can a child grow up when his mother was stabbed 22 times by his father? How to build oneself despite this maternal absence, and in the abuse and daily humiliation? It is both the drama and its consequences that therefore constitute the subject of the book. Rachid Lamara is campaigning today to carry the voice of the victims of feminicides: “We talk a lot about feminicides, but not enough about the children who remain. »
