For sale in the Netherlands! The only Mercedes G-Class 6×6 in the world with a V12 engine
Mercedes signed something crazy in 2013. The ever so meaningful premium manufacturer took a wicked variant of the Mercedes G-Class into production. The Mercedes-AMG G 63 6×6 is a pick-up truck with four doors, six axles and a twin-turbo V8 with 544 hp. The nearly 6m long hazard uses portal axles for maximum ground clearance, just like the Hummer H1. Portal axles are not in the middle of the wheels, but at the top. The drive is via a gear system.
Mercedes G 65 AMG 6×6 with 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12
The Mercedes G 65 AMG 6×6 die at Auto Leitner in Alkmaar is for sale, started life as ‘regular’ G 65; a G-Class with a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12. The power source produces 612 hp and a limited torque of 1000 Nm. It steers the regular G 65 from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds. A powerful achievement, given the lack of aerodynamics of the Geländewagen and his weight of almost 2600 kilos. No weight is added for this G 65 AMG 6×6. But the six-wheeled G 63 – Mercedes’ own – weighs more than 4000 kilos.
Conversion has cost the first owner 900,000 euros
Because as said, this G 65 AMG 6×6 was not rolled out from the factory as a six-wheeler. It was converted for an amount of exactly 901,450 euros and equipped with a Mansory Gronos styling package. Surprisingly, quite a lot has been driven with it: no less than 56,000 kilometers. According to the seller, the car is in excellent condition. And that is also allowed for an asking price of 849,000 euros. Sounds like an amazing bucket of money – and it is – but not when you consider that it cost 1,282,700 euros new.
