Toulouse: starred chef Pierre Gagnaire present in the kitchens of Fouquet’s at the Barrière casino
This evening, at the Barrière casino in Toulouse, a gala dinner is being organized at Fouquet’s within the gaming establishment. The multi-starred chef Pierre Gagnaire has developed the menu and will be present, in the kitchen and in the dining room.
It has now been three years since such a dinner could be organized due to restrictions linked to the health crisis. This Thursday evening, in the Fouquet’s restaurant located inside the Barrière casino in Toulouse, it’s a gala dinner. Starred chef Pierre Gagnaire will be present because of his association since 2015 with Fouquet’s restaurants. The cook with multiple restaurants and 50 years behind the stoves is present for the occasion. On the menu of this gala dinner, local and seasonal products. “Each region has its specificities and in Toulouse, there are countless treasures, it is a region rich in gastronomy and we have tried with Loïc Muller, chef of the Toulouse kitchens at Fouquet’s to pay tribute to this wealth. It is a cuisine without fuss but with taste”, underlines Pierre Gagnaire who has just received an additional star for his establishment Le Duende, in Nîmes.
Veal shank, a few truffles and a request for violets, these are the few surprises that await the 145 guests who have reserved their places for this Thursday evening. “It’s been full for two weeks, there was even a waiting list,” notes Caroline Pastor, sales and marketing director of Casino Barrière.
The presence of this size of French gastronomy delights the Fouquet’s teams. “It’s a form of reward for us, for all the work we do throughout the year, associated with Pierre Gagnaire, it’s always a pleasure, a moment of sharing”, confides Loïc Muller, a few hours before the start of the evening. In the dining room, the teams are already setting the tables to welcome the guests. The latter will also be surprised to see the chef in the dining room. “Pierre Gagnaire regularly goes back and forth between the kitchen and the dining room, it’s one of his strengths”, underlines Loïc Muller.
