The Haitian writer received his award Thursday at Passa Porta in Brussels. Happy, because it is nominated by young people.

Iyes-Philippe Dalembert is a wanderer: you have to travel. Since his first departure from Haiti, where he was born 59 years ago, this polyglot has lived in turn in Nancy, Paris, Rome, Jerusalem, Berlin, Milwaukee, etc. This can be found in his work – ten novels, two collections of short stories, eleven collections of poetry, essays, stories – which have often met in dialogue in two or even several places. Dalembert is now a resident of Paris, but still travels as much. He was in Brussels in the spring of 2016, hosted in residence by Passa Porta, the International House of Literature. He came back to it these days. To receive his Choice Goncourt of Belgium.
