Signature of an agreement with the University of Luxembourg for research in the field of media
The Prime Minister and Minister of Communications and Media Xavier Bettel signed an agreement with the University of Luxembourg which reflects the importance that the government attaches to the maintenance and development of a deployed and sustainable media landscape, and to the deepening and disseminating knowledge about the media and journalism in Luxembourg in a global societal context marked by the phenomena of disinformation and misinformation.
For the implementation of the agreement, the University undertakes to carry out an annual survey of the media landscape in Luxembourg, to conduct research in the field of media, communications and digital technology, and to organize a cycle of conferences annual public on the subject of the media in society.
The agreement will allow the recruitment of an additional researcher in the field of media.
The principles of ‘open science’ will be applied to the research results developed within the framework of the convention, by making the data resulting from the research accessible free of charge.
