Poland is perceived as a country of solidarity – Wprost
Zosin is one of the border crossings between Poland and Ukraine. 300 meters from the barrier where the refugee check-in facility is located, various aid organizations were created in the town. The central place is occupied by the Polish Humanitarian Action. – Everyone who came now really came for one purpose – to help. We stood there, that everyone had a special place – he told who would be who.
In Zosin, the organization works closely with Caritas. – Caritas baby napkin, feeder and changing table for children. And we turned our PAH tent into what we call a shop. People come to him often with nothing, not even stocks, so we have whole packages – Papis stories.
When talking to journalists, comments! TVN in the PAH tent will be built, among others family from Kharkiv. – in all copies, planes, bombs and projectiles underfoot – says Ms Tanja. I get: – We left the house a week ago, now we will look for shelter here.
The greatest challenge in life
Volunteers by coming to the border, participating in hard work. – Your goal is to coordinate the situation, when you will have the current level and prove yourself. You cannot prepare for this. The things that are still in the lines here will stay with us for years – admits Papis.
Ms Joanna is a law graduate and studies at postgraduate studies in humanitarian aid at the University of Warsaw. She is employed by the Polish Humanitarian Action to coordinate the work of 10 volunteers of this organization.
During the conversation with the reporter. Notes! Mrs. Joanna told about one of the evenings in Zosin. – It was 22, it started to snow. The temperature was supposed to drop, it was around -9 and at that moment she had 300-400 women with children, in the snow, without transport. We tried to keep them all in the warehouse so that they would warm up. In addition, there was a group of about 20 children with disabilities. It was hard to explain to the children what was going on. Especially since they have already been on the road for three days – says Papis.
– How I put all of them in the transport to go and lie down on the ground – I recalled Note! TVN Mrs. Joanna.
Volunteers also at the border, where the second position of the Polish Humanitarian Akacja is launched. It is a place where refugees can cool down for the first time after many hours of queuing and exhausting road.
– To a place where nerves and trauma come from people. Sometimes I spend a few hours there, for example for success, says Joanna Papis. And still: – There are volunteers in the place that has medical help, who help them, where, where they can be next, who will help.
History
Mrs. Sabina lives in clubs in Warsaw every day and organizes dogo classes and training for students. Photography is her passion. At the border, where she volunteers, she tries to document stories.
– Reporting documentation is created, thanks to which it will be easier for us to do what is happening. For difficult and moving stories – very much Sabina Złotorowicz.
Mrs. Sabina has been at the border for days. – Here the body works differently. Every day I see that my body and mind are different. You need two days of adaptation in order to cool down and also the information and information and images, they say – he says. She left her family and went to the border.
In turn, Mrs. Magdalena, by helping at the border, traveled over 700 kilometers from the Lubuskie voivodeship. What works in banking and runs a catering day business. At home, you can have a husband and two children on it.
– I came in my family because they were afraid for me. They said what I was pushing for and that there are many people who live closer to me. But I felt that I had to be there – explains Magdalena Ładońska-Buszydło. And she adds: – My Blood is 15 years old and my son is an adult, so I think he is doing perfectly well without me. Besides, they will also need a time when they are not here.
– Those people whose cores near the border live on autopilot. There is work, you know what who has to do. Something is going to be eaten. 7-8 hours of sleep and so on. (…) The real world will hit a man only when he leaves and sees what it will be like. When the autopilot is over, it’s all to the helplines, to psychology, to people who are inteds that will be necessary, no man is prepared for what’s here.
Solidarity with refugees
The founder of the Polish Humanitarian Action, Janina Ochojska, is touched by the commitment of all Poles to help refugees.
– Poland is perceived today as a truly solidary country. And this solidarity is thanks to numerous volunteers – Creating Ochojska. I get: – Feeling the importance of behavior, that there is no one to assemble them, so far volunteers practice beyond measure. This is a profession that one man tried hard, burns out a lot. Connect with a mediator pump encountering the attraction of poverty, suffering and impossibility as you progress through the transition to an exclusive group.
– There is a shortage of people to work, opportunities during the week, because on the weekend, when people have free time, they come and there is no such problem. That is why I will try to make it possible for another team of 4-5 people to fit in and came here – Magdalena Ładońska still says Buszydło.
From the beginning, in Ukraine, they joined the Polish Humanitarian Action before the 3rd World War. People who feel empowered to support the Polish Humanitarian Action People who can get through the side of the organization. Volunteers are needed all the time.
