Nantes, Chambéry, Toulouse and Chartres smoke their quarters
This Wednesday evening, as part of the French Cup for men’s handball, Nantes, Chambéry, Toulouse and Chartres validated their ticket for the quarter-finals.
Nantes did not really have time to shake. This Wednesday evening, the H, which currently occupies second place in the French championship standings, qualified fairly easily for the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France, after their victory in the Dunkirk hall (29-38) . A victory achieved thanks in particular to an always excellent Valero Rivera, author of a total of eight goals.
For Chambéry, on the other hand, it was much more laborious. As proof, the current fifth in the classification of the French championship validated his ticket for these famous quarter-finals, after penalties, in the room of Nancy (37-38). After 60 minutes, the score was 33-33. The Chambériens came very close to disaster against the current red lantern of the Liqui Moly Starligue.
Toulouse accepts its status
It was Toulouse who then faced the only second division team, the Proligue, still in contention. In the end, the logic was obviously respected, since Toulouse also validated their ticket for the quarter-finals, at the expense of the Dijon club (33-27). A victory acquired thanks in particular to Erwin Feuchtmann Perez, who finished top scorer in his training, with a total of eight achievements.
Finally, the last formation to join the quarter-finals, on this Wednesday evening, is Chartres. The current eleventh in the French championship left no chance for the team ranked just behind, namely Limoges (42-31). A victory under the leadership in particular of an excellent Nikolai Nygaard Pedersen and his ten goals, in total, for eleven shots. A great evening for him, who largely recovered from this river score.
